Red Shirts

You might spot the Rolling Meadows Firefighters wearing red shirts on Fridays and some other holidays throughout the year, and you may wonder why. Wearing red is a small way that we can remember the troops who are deployed. While we are not making any statement about any specific military action in the world, we want to show support and solidarity with those who have volunteered to serve in our military.

The public is invited to join the members of Local 3075 in supporting our troops by purchasing a red t-shirt and wearing them on Fridays until all of the troops come home.

The shirts are sold at FD events throughout the year, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting “The Heart of a Marine Foundation.” This foundation serves all branches of the military by providing services to both veterans and their families. More information can be found at www.heartofamarine.org.
